Jardin Exotique d’Eze

After climbing 450m up the hills of Southern France we set our eyes upon the breath taking panorama of the French Riverea in the brilliant sunshine. In this most beautiful setting is Jardin Exotique, built upon the ruins of a château just after World War 2, the home to hundreds of species of Cacti, Succulents and Agave.

Below are my favourite plants from the Exotic Garden followed by a small collection of images from my trip to the beautiful Jardin Exotique of Village Eze.

Crassula Arborescens

This succulent shrub is also known as the ‘Silver Dollar Plant’ because of its round glaucous leaves. This was my favourite plant from our trip!

Ferocactus Pottsi

Trichocereus Pasacana

Cylindropuntia Tunicata

Cours Saleya Flower Market – Nice Old Town

On my trip to the South of France, I was delighted to stumble into one of the most beautiful flower markets I have ever seen. In the heart of the Old Town, right next to the beach, one of Frances’ most famous flower & fruit markets is open every day 7am to 12pm I recommend buying a punnet of fresh strawberries from one of the stalls & having a wonder round for a couple of hours before getting a coffee outside one of the cafés to watch them shut down. We learnt that the French people are very passionate about their gardens! Every terrace filled with cactus’ & succulents’, I was in plant heaven!

Here are a few of my photos from the Flower Market, you’ll notice a lot of ranuculus’ which they had in all sorts of colours – It seems they are a particular favourite in the South of France

First Wedding Fair

The Kings Chapel Wedding Fair

As one of the recommended suppliers by Old Amersham Hotels Ltd, I took part in their Spring Wedding Showcase this Sunday. Thank you to all that came & it was lovely to speak to all the happy couples to be.

To give everyone a real insight to my floral work, I decided to go for a slightly unconventional colour scheme, limited white & more rustic, earthy colours. I decided to go for peaches, burnt orange & ochre. As all my work is heavy foliage, a lot of green too! I got a really positive response from those who prefer natural & organic styles of flowers, unlike a lot of other florists work.

I made a table piece, a chair piece, button holes, a bride bouquet & a bridesmaids bouquet. I like individuality & I really enjoyed talking to brides to be about their plans for colour schemes!

Here is a number of my favourite images from today. Thanks all for coming!

The Living Succulent Wreath

Distinctive decor

Succulents are very much in fashion & I can see why. I decided to have a go at a very unique succulent wreath. I made this with a mixture of small & bigger succulents. If you would like one for yourself, you will have to allow 6 weeks to let the roots embed & then it will be ready to hang up wherever you like. The fantastic thing about succulents is that if looked after correctly they can live for a very very long time! Before buying I would advise reading up on how to maintain upkeep of this beautiful wreath. For example, when watered, water a lot! But not very often. For succulents to grow, it is advised that you keep in the sun for six hours a day, but not too long as they can burn. (My friend learnt this the hard way when she bought her first succulent).

These wreaths are perfect for unique home decor. The price can range depending on the size, a large one for £85 & a small for £50. Contact 07877219138 for all enquiries!

Valentines day has just gone! & was a very busy time for the Nagundo Tree.

This year I prepared two different sized bouquets, Regular £30 & Large £50, with a spin on the traditional Valentines style. Through sourcing my flowers at the Covent Garden Flower Market, I am able to take my pick of the vey best florals arriving into London.

Regular Bouquets

Here is a couple of examples of my regular bouquets, including 6 red roses and a mixture of complimenting flowers & foliage.

Large Bouquets

& here are two examples of the large variety which have over 12 roses complimented with a mixture of other flowers and foliage.

I like to make my bouquets as personal as can be on this loving occasion and so any particular requests or requirements I will happily accommodate to make for the perfect Valentines gift.

All bouquets are gift wrapped & delivered to wherever the recipient may be ! Seeing the face of the person receiving my bouquets always makes those early mornings worth while.

Dried Flower Wreath

Dead flowers are pretty too

Over the last year my left over flowers have been turning into a lovely collection of dried flowers and foliage in all sorts of auburns and ochre tones. This dried garden had formed in my little shed and I felt inspired to create something new & unique.

After some playing around and lots of fiddling with wire I created this stunning dried flower wreath! This one got snapped up quickly but after the lovely feedback I got from this one there will certainly be more on the way!
