An Ode to British Summertime

Romance was what I wanted to create when wedding numbers dramatically reduced to the 30 people cap. An intimate setting, oozing with love of a poetic essence. China plates and English floral’s, creating a whimsical aura in a traditional style.

With less guests, meaning more room, I designed a set up which would overflow the guests with an enchanted feel. Flowers seemingly growing overhead, in a loose and natural style before flowing down the pillar – gorgeous Digitalis popping out of its base. With the rest of the ceiling space I wanted to recreate a traditional washing line, The Boho Shack had the perfect linens for this idea to come alive.

The bride’s bouquet was full of textures, made from seasonal blooms and herbs, a perfume of marjoram filling the air. This was paired with a heavy floral headdress which complimented the desired era. Her groom wore a corduroy suit in a chocolate brown which stood out next to the bride’s olive trim on her medieval dress.

A regal essence was portrayed for the guests photobooth scene, which sat proudly in front of The Kings Chapels 14th century pulpit. With limited numbers its a brilliant idea to have a set put together which compliments your wedding’s theme, each wedding guest becoming a character of the day. The Vintage props were supplied by The Boho Shack along with their beautiful blush chez long. I created spectacles of Lunaria seed pods as an alternative prop and had traditional ceramic jug’s brimming with wild style flowers – this added scent and a natural feel to the scene.

A single banqueting tables, even with setting’s socially distanced, makes for fabulous photos and even better, unites everyone. The flowers were simple, stems of peeled Lunaria shining her pearlescent glow and architectural but airy Cow Parsley standing proud (Anthriscus sylvestris). Taper candles of deep red lined the table amidst the wealth of china, tea pots and harlequin glassware. Always check with your venue if they allow naked flames, the elegance they add to your dining experience is irreplaceable.
